Toatasi Setefano Security License Revoked After Firearms and Drug Charges

The Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority (PSPLA) has canceled the Certificate of Approval (COA) of Toatasi Setefano following charges of unlawfully possessing firearms and ammunition, as well as evidence of drug-related behavior. The decision, dated January 17, 2025, comes after a series of incidents that raised serious concerns about Mr. Setefano’s suitability as a security professional.

In November 2024, police discovered ammunition in Mr. Setefano’s vehicle during a search, along with methamphetamine utensils and a large knife. Mr. Setefano does not hold a firearms license and is not legally authorized to possess ammunition. Additionally, just weeks earlier, Mr. Setefano had been involved in a vehicle crash after mounting a curb and colliding with a fence. Blood tests taken after the crash revealed the presence of methamphetamine, MDMA, and THC, demonstrating drug use while driving.

Mr. Setefano’s failure to appear in court on two occasions has resulted in warrants for his arrest. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Mr. Setefano did not respond to the complaint or oppose the police's request to cancel his certification. The Licensing Authority concluded that his actions endangered public safety and demonstrated a lack of suitability for his role in the security industry.

The Authority ordered the immediate cancellation of Mr. Setefano’s COA and instructed him to return his security ID within seven days. The case highlights the PSPLA’s commitment to maintaining strict standards within the security profession and ensuring public safety.
